UPL University of Sustainable Technology and the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development (OICSD), Somerville College, University of Oxford, have signed an MoU to strengthen knowledge exchange in sustainable food systems, climate change, and innovation.

Starting summer 2026, select UPL University faculty will travel to Oxford for specialised training in curriculum development and research-based learning. In return, OICSD experts will engage UPL students through an exclusive seminar series covering Artificial Intelligence, Sustainable Development, Climate Action, and Technology Innovation, including two in-person and two online lectures in the coming year.

Commenting on the collaboration, Jai Shroff, Chairman & Group CEO, UPL Ltd., said, “This partnership creates a powerful platform for learning and innovation, empowering the next generation to contribute to global sustainability goals.”

Baroness Jan Royall, Principal of Somerville College and Executive Director of OICSD, added, “Our renewed partnership with UPL offers an exciting opportunity to make advances in climate-resilient agriculture, innovation, and environmental stewardship.”

The collaboration, which began in 2021 with the OpenAg Symposium, reflects the institutions’ shared commitment to advancing sustainability through education, research, and global cooperation.
