In a remarkable celebration of leadership and Indian cultural wisdom, the Vice-President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, inaugurated the book “Sing, Dance and Lead: Leadership Lessons from the Life of Srila Prabhupada” at the Vice-President’s Enclave on January 7, 2026. The book is authored by Hindol Sengupta, a distinguished writer and commentator on leadership and society.
The event brought together scholars, government officials, and cultural leaders to explore the timeless lessons of leadership rooted in values, service, and inner purpose. The Vice-President highlighted that leadership must be anchored in moral clarity and public service, not just authority or power.
Leadership Beyond Authority
Addressing the distinguished audience, Radhakrishnan underscored that leadership is most impactful when it comes from conviction, humility, and genuine service. Quoting from the life of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Vice-President said that a true leader inspires others through compassion, perseverance, and a higher sense of purpose.
Despite humble beginnings, Srila Prabhupada travelled across continents, spreading his message of devotion, discipline, and joy — shaping institutions and touching millions of lives globally. The Vice-President remarked that leaders today can draw strength from these values to build a more inclusive and compassionate society.

In his address, the Vice-President reflected on India’s rich civilisational heritage, which offers profound insights into ethical leadership and collective welfare. He referenced the teachings of saint-poet Thiruvalluvar, emphasizing that strong leadership always begins with a clear vision, moral courage, and collective action.
Highlighting the core message of the book, Shri Radhakrishnan said “Sing, Dance and Lead” showcases how leadership need not be rigid or authoritarian; it can be joyful, participative, and deeply human — a lesson particularly relevant for youth and public leaders navigating a rapidly changing world.
