In a grand and vibrant ceremony held at iLeaf Banquets, Navi Mumbai, Rtn. Harsh Makol was formally installed as the District Governor of Rotary District 3142 for the Rotary year 2025–26. The event, themed around Ashadhi Ekadashi, seamlessly blended cultural tradition with a renewed call to social action.
The Rotary District 3142 comprises more than 115 active clubs across Thane and Navi Mumbai, making it one of the most dynamic regions in the Rotary world. The installation witnessed participation of over 500 attendees, including senior Rotarians, dignitaries, social leaders, and youth volunteers.
In his inspiring acceptance speech, Rtn. Makol launched 10 powerful community thrusts that will be the guiding pillars for the year:
- Self-Help Groups – Empowering women and budding entrepreneurs with sustainable livelihood opportunities.
- School Upgradation – Improving school infrastructure and digital learning access.
- Rotary Carnival – A large-scale celebration of service, talent, and social engagement.
- Pashu Raksha – Providing animal healthcare camps and welfare awareness.
- Street Adoption – Promoting civic cleanliness and beautification.
- Project Restore – Focused on environmental care, healthcare, and disaster relief.
- Be International – Enhancing global Rotary partnerships.
- Youth Mentoring – Nurturing tomorrow’s leaders through mentorship programs.
- Pediatric Heart Surgeries – Funding life-saving surgeries for children from economically weaker sections.
- End Thalassemia – Supporting awareness, screening, and care to eliminate this genetic disorder.
Speaking on the occasion, Rtn. Makol said, “Ashadhi Ekadashi represents spiritual renewal – and this year, Rotary will translate that spirit into action. Together, we’ll amplify our impact, touch more lives, and uphold the Rotary motto – ‘Service Above Self’.”
Rotary International Director Rtn. Nagesh, the chief guest for the evening, motivated the audience to think bold and act bigger, urging clubs to take up impactful, scalable projects.
One of the key announcements made by DG Harsh Makol was a large-scale Check Dam project aimed at sustainable water conservation. Additionally, he declared special focus on maternal mortality reduction and mother-son health initiatives, which drew strong applause from the audience.
The night concluded with many donors pledging contributions—both small and large—to The Rotary Foundation, reaffirming their commitment to community upliftment and global impact.
