Panvel is all set to witness a vibrant celebration of sports and leadership as the city prepares for the MLA Cup grand chess and carrom tournament on Sunday, August 3 at 9 AM. The event is being held to mark the birthday of MLA Prashant Thakur.
Jointly organized by Janiwa – A Social Foundation and Sakhi Mahila Mandal, the tournament will take place at the Agri Samaj Hall in Panvel. The inauguration ceremony will be graced by former MP and senior leader Ramsheth Thakur, with several high-profile dignitaries attending as special guests.
Among the invited guests are MLA Prashant Thakur, MLA Mahesh Baldi, MLA Vikrant Patil, senior leader J. M. Mhatre, BJP state council member Arunsheth Bhagat, district president Avinash Koli, former house leader Paresh Thakur, district vice president Shrinand Patwardhan, former mayor Kavita Chautamol, former deputy mayor Charushila Gharat, legal cell head Adv. Prakash Binedar, district vice president Jayant Pagade, former opposition leader Pritam Mhatre, and former city president Anil Bhagat, along with various local representatives and organization heads.
The organizers – Nitin Patil, BJP district general secretary and founder of Janiwa Foundation, and Pritam Mhatre, BJP Panvel city vice president and founder of Sakhi Mahila Mandal – have appealed to all sports lovers in the city to participate and enjoy the spirit of community and competition.
